This unique pair of earrings is handwoven using precision micro-macrame techniques. The design features a central geometric pattern inspired by the Inca Chakana (the Southern Cross or Andean Cross), a powerful symbol representing the three levels of Inca cosmology and the connection between them.

The cross is oriented towards the four cardinal directions and divides the empire into four regions (Suyos). In total, the figure has 12 points, corresponding to the 12 months of the Inca calendar and the principles of life and reciprocity.

The hole in the center represents the "navel" of the world (Cusco, the capital) and the central portal connecting the three worlds. It also references the Southern Cross constellation, the astronomical guide used for agriculture and planting.
