This a lovely original antique map of Denmark from Chambers Encyclopaedia, circa 1860.
This finely detailed steel engraving includes the main map of Denmark along with three insets:
- The Faroe Islands
- Iceland
- Bornholm
Published by W. & R. Chambers, London & Edinburgh, this map shows the political boundaries, cities, towns, and topography of Denmark in the mid-19th century. It features attractive hand coloring on the borders and is printed on period paper with a nice aged patina.
Dimensions: Approximately 10.5" x 8.5" (visible map area).
Condition: Good antique condition for its age (approx. 165 years old). The map shows light overall toning, minor edge wear, and a couple of soft creases from original folding, which is common for maps from encyclopaedias of this era. No major tears or significant damage. Colors remain vibrant. Ready to frame and display beautifully.
