George Glover was a singer with the English variety theatre act known as "Betty Barclay & A Baritone" which toured the circuits between about 1910 and 1920 with their refined entertainment at a white grand piano, in which the "Baritone" (George Glover) sang to the accompaniment of Miss Barclay. They made a handful of recordings for the HMV record label about 1915.
A nice portrait of the musician which measures approximately 4-5/8" x 8". The image is printed on a heavy double weight paper and is hand signed in ink "All good wishes, Geo. Glover".
This original vintage publicity photograph is in great condition, with slightly trimmed right border. A rare early piece of British Music Hall Theatre memorabilia from the 1910s-20s.
The photograph is embossed by photographer Fielding of Leeds and also has stamps on the back in purple ink reading "FIELDINGS' CARDETTES SUPPLIER ONLY TO THE PROFESSION. THE STUDIOS 12 ALBION PLACE. LEEDS" and "NEWSPAPERS MAY REPRODUCE ACKNOWLEDGING UNDERNEATH EACH REPRODUCTION. PHOTOGRAPH BY FIELDING, LEEDS."
