The base is marked A-833 Japan. The maker's sticker is torn and all that is left is the word Japan.
This darling planter would be so cute on a shelf in a nursery or use to hole small houseplants.
It measures 5.5" long x 3 1/8" wide x 5" tall.
This exact model is VERY hard to find! I found one online that is similar with a girl's face, but can not find one for a baby boy.
