About the Model
This instrument is a 1997 Bourgeois OMS Custom Tree of Life.
It's a very rare custom model with an OM size and a 12-fret joint.
The top is made of spruce, and the sides and back are made of Indian rosewood.
The neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge are made of ebony.
The fingerboard features a luxurious Tree of Life inlay,
giving it the presence characteristic of a high-quality Bourgeois custom model.
Despite its 25.5-inch long scale, the body resonance unique to a 12-fret joint results in a deep, rich low end and a full, resonant sound.
The clear high end and the lustrous mid-low end, which responds sensitively to picking nuances, are well-balanced,
making it suitable for a wide range of playing styles, from fingerstyle to strumming.
The neck shape is slightly V-shaped, giving it a vintage-like feel, which is another attractive feature.
This guitar offers a rich, deep tone characteristic of a 12-fret joint.
Condition:
This guitar shows signs of use commensurate with its age.
There are several scratches and small dents on the top, sides, and back from playing and storage, but these are purely cosmetic and do not affect playability.
There is a small dent on the tip of the headstock.
There are also scattered fine scratches and dents on the back and sides of the body, but no major damage reaching the wood.
There is a chip in the binding near the end of the fretboard, but this does not currently affect playability.
The neck condition is good, and the truss rod has plenty of adjustment range.
The fret life is approximately 60%.
The current string height at the 12th fret is approximately 2.0mm on the 6th string side and 1.2mm on the 1st string side, making it a comfortable playing setting.
The current setup has the string height adjusted slightly low, making it very easy to play. However, strong picking may cause buzzing.
While this may vary depending on your playing style and preference, if you wish, we can create a new saddle at the appropriate height and provide you with a more stable setup.

Dana Bourgeois is a guitar luthier born in 1953 in Westbrook, Maine, USA.
She had a strong interest in music from a young age and eventually decided to dedicate her life to the guitar.
In the early 1970s, an encounter with a guitar-making instruction book led her to enter the world of guitar making, and she started her first guitar in a dorm room at university. In 1975, she completed her first guitar.
Afterward, through interactions with many luthiers and experience repairing and restoring numerous vintage guitars, he deeply learned how to identify high-quality wood, the structure and manufacturing techniques necessary to maximize the wood's resonance.
In 1980, he met Eric Schoenberg, a renowned ragtime guitar virtuoso, and was commissioned to create a new model incorporating a cutaway into the traditional OM style, which became a turning point.
In 1985, he completed the Schoenberg Soloist, a 14-fret joint OM cutaway model, and the following year, he co-founded Schoenberg Guitars with Mr. Schoenberg.
This Soloist model was designed and the materials selected by Dana himself, and each guitar was meticulously crafted, with the sound of each instrument being checked. Approximately 150 units were produced with the cooperation of Martin Guitars.
Subsequently, he gained further experience, including involvement in the design of the acoustic line at Gibson's Montana factory, and in 1985, he established his own brand, Bourgeois Guitars.
To this day, through exceptional wood selection and acoustic design, they continue to produce numerous artist models and unique guitars.
