This is an interesting lot of JAPAN / JAPANESE revenue and revenue usage items that offers a very nice variety. There are a least (75) stamps in this lot which includes stamps on (4) DOCUMENTS / partial DOCUMENTS. There are stamps affixed to some of these items and there are some very nice loose stamps. The balance of the lot includes very interesting "plate" studies , "plate" notations on stamps and notations near stamps mounted on paper.
This is a very nice lot with noted varieties of used 1870's revenue stamps, duplicate denominations and interesting cancellations. There are obvious varieties noted on the revenue stamps as there are "plate" variety notations with regards to several different values. There are also later unused "Taisho" stamps and used "playing card" issues.
There are pencil markings, notations on pages, on portions of pages, various stamps and documents.
The documents are nice with interesting markings and these items are in varying condition but in better condition than most fiscals seen. These items are all offered as found. The centering and perforations are as pictured. These stamps all appear to be sound on piece/document and the documents on rice paper are also quite nice. There are obvious folds , markings and cancellations. These items vary in size but are much larger than those we have offered in the past. These larger items have not been unfolded completely or examined. (see pictures)
Any faults are certainly to be expected on revenue items and most all of these appear to date from the 1870's. There may be harder to find items and/or stamps. We cannot tell.
