Properties :
LOCTITE® 7200™ is intended to facilitate the removal of seals made using polymerized chemicals. Its action consists of softening them, thus reducing excessively intense scraping operations. Once applied, the product covers the joint with a foam, preventing its flow outside the desired area, while allowing its action for the required time. Typical applications concern the elimination of all types of "chemical" joints on metal joint surfaces. It is particularly suitable for removing joints from aluminum parts or other soft metals without the risk of injuring them. It can also be used to easily remove adhesives, hardened oils and greases, scale deposits, paint, varnish, etc. joint lines or metal surfaces.
NOTE: LOCTITE® 7200™ is mainly used on metal parts. It is not recommended on plastics.
Instructions for use:
1. Protect painted surfaces, as LOCTITE® 7200™ attacks paints.
2. For best results, hold the aerosol upright, approximately 20 to 30 cm from the surface to be treated and cover it with as thick a layer of product as possible.
3. Leave to act for 10 to 15 minutes to soften anaerobic joints, and 30 minutes for silicone joints.
4. Remove the softened joint with a spatula and wipe or clean the surface. Repeat the operation if necessary.
5. Before applying new joint sealant, clean the surfaces using a suitable solvent such as Loctite® 7063™.
Aerosol under pressure. Protect from direct sunlight and do not expose to temperatures above 50°C. Do not pierce or burn, even after use. Do not spray on a flame or heat source.
