Awesome piece of humankind prehistory. This is an Acheulean hand axe used by either Neanderthal, Homo erectus or Homo habilis from the Moroccan Sahara. A large artifact from man's early beginnings measuring about 6 inches (15.24 cm) and weighing in at nearly 1 lb. Holding this you can feel the ergonomic fit to a human hand and the possibility of the utilitarian uses this provided to someone so long ago. A wonderful piece and exceptional conversation piece.
