After playing his first 7 seasons in Seattle (1982-88), Mike Moore was traded to the Oakland A's for the start of the 1989 season, in which he promptly won a career-high 19 games & posted a 2.61 ERA!


Mike Moore would go on to become an All-Star and win a World Series title with the Oakland A's in 1989.


In the Loma Prietta earthquake-delayed 1989 World Series, Mike Moore & the Oakland A's swept the San Francisco Giants in 4 games, and along with Dave Stewart, Mike Moore started & won two of those World Series games (games 2 & 4), going (2-0) with 10 strikeouts in 2 games started.
