DESCRIPTION: The beautiful hand painted chocolate pot was produced on a beautiful orange luster background with a white snow covered village scene in black. The design looks so classic while using only those three colors. The interior is a striking high white that is sparklingly beautiful.
CONDITION: While this chocolate pot is classified as used, the condition is superb. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or hairlines. There are no utensil marks or wear. We do feel the need to mention that the pot sits unlevel on the table due to the height of the center mold bump on the center of the bottom. You can see this in photos #11 & #12. This can be easily corrected by adding felt on the bottom to protect your table.
DIMENSIONS: The chocolate pot base has a diameter of 5" with a height of 9 1/2" to the top of the lid. The spout height is 7 3/4" while the measurement from the handle to the tip of the spout is 6 3/4". The top diameter is 3 5/16". The flange is quite large, going down 1" into the pot.
HISTORY/MARKS: The period of operation for the Takito, Ogawa & Co. was 1880-1948. They specialized in lusterware, chinaware, tableware, tea sets, coffee sets, cups & saucers, decorative porcelain, and household decorative porcelain. The mark on the bottom of this piece is identified by the paid website, marks4ceramics, as used in the 1921-1945 time period.
