Striking Mid Century Amber & Green Bark Glass Vase - Likely Japanese - possibly Tajima

This is a very attractive piece of mid century glass.
It is a relatively small but weighty vase in a beautiful green and amber colourway.
It is textured and made to look and feel like tree bark. This pattern is most strongly associated with Geoffrey Baxter and Whitefriars Glass, however we have found conflicting information on the internet when reading up about this.

Below are some links to similar vases on the internet, either for sale or sold. The top two appear identical to ours. The first was catalogued by the auction house as Whitefriars, however the second says in the style of Whitefriars, most likely by Tajima of Japan.
The last link is another Tajima vase, and the colourway is very much the same, although the style is different. Having had a conversation with someone who buys and sells a lot of mid century glass, they are of the strong opinion that it is Japanese made, and that Whitefriars never made glass in this colour combination. Hopefully this information is helpful.

It presents beautifully, and with some sunlight illuminating it, it really pops.
It is a great match to mid century teak furniture such as G Plan.

In overall condition terms, the only thing that lets it down are two small chips on the base of the vase. Please see close up photos taken. These in essence are invisible, principally because they are underneath, but also because the bark effect pattern also disguises there presence.
