Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

If you're a singer or drummer looking for something special with excellent sound quality and an old school style and flair then you might want to consider this classic Shure microphone.     It's the 1960's era 545 model dynamic cardioid microphone that could be used for a variety of purposes and it comes with the original cable, original red felt mic pouch and newer Shure mic clip shown.
They very rarely ever come this nice.

Pic # 2 is from an old 1970's era catalog showing this very model along with the other 545 variants being sold at that particular time.
It should be noted that this mic is set at Low impedance. The mic has a very warm, smooth tone with plenty of bass and an excellent frequency response. As good as the day it was sold and perfect for singing and broadcasting as it was designed. An excellent snare mic as well.

Pic # 3 shows Led Zeppelin using these very model mics while performing Whole Lot of Love live in concert. The 545 and 545S model were seen at most of their live performances as the 545 series mic was one of the best that money could buy. They eventually began using the Shure 548 series mic as the years progressed which was an even better version of the 545.

Pic # 4 shows a young Eric Clapton using a 545 while performing live.

The 545 series mic came in quite a few variants over the years but this was the original basic model made in America with excellent quality control.

This is the very early 1st gen model with the screw on type cable that was introduced around 1960 and they were an immediate success. These mics were phased out in the mid to late 1970's and sold only with the XLR attachment from there out as the 545SD model.

This mic has excellent uni-directional characteristics. The 545 series has an aggressive, simplistic and modern layout. It's been said by many musicians that the sound quality of this particular microphone is the best bang for the buckThis example has just extremely lite cosmetic wear as seen in the pictures provided and one of the nicest examples I have seen.   The satin chrome has a very nice luster with just a couple very lite scuff marks. The upper black cartridge is just as nice. The front screen is free of odors, tarnish or dents. The Shure label looks very nice...completely legible.

Mic is 100% solid. No loose parts. The foam inner pop filter is new and in excellent shape.   This greatly helps reduce the unwanted "pops" you get from breathing or singing to close to the mic. The original foam is usually gone at this point or falling apart. You'll need to replace this foam if you want a good sounding mic. Just make sure you do that with any other 545 you buy from any other seller.

The original Shure cable is provided and in very nice shape with no cosmetic wear on the exterior and free of any cracks or damage. It's a longer 16 feet in length giving you quite a bit of room to work with. Soft, pliable and in perfect working condition. The cable has the quality  standard male 1/4 inch end connector.

The mic clip is an original Shure A-25 model that fits the mic perfectly and has a good grip providing plenty of tension. It will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have and shows just lite cosmetic wear but works perfectly.

Mic is an easy 9 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty is the sound it still produces.

This mic will do you justice and should last 100 years if taken care of properly. They just built these mics so nicely and can take a ton of abuse.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE AND USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY...

As with all my vintage microphones and stands...
