DESCRIPTION

Wonderful two-part Chitmacha purse basket.  Finely executed in double twill plaiting in river cane with bold geometric graphic decorations.  Natural dye colors appear to be black walnut and puccoon.  Four small loops for a hanging strap.  

CONDITION

Overall very good to excellent antique condition. Structurally sound and remarkably well preserved with strong form retention. No evident repairs or strand loss. Corner strap loops remain intact. Minor age-related softness and light handling wear consistent with age (all visible in photographs). Displays beautifully.
