ABOUT THE ARTIST
John Carlisle (fl.1866–1916) was a British landscape painter. He lived
in London and Dorking, and later at Keats Cottage in Hampstead. The
painted in Devon, Wales, Scotland and Guernsey, and in Italy. He
exhibited widely including sixty-two paintings at the Walker Gallery in
London.
