THE ITEM

Shelley fine bone china has a Worldwide reputation for quality and remains very collectable. This trio, with its delicate china, shape and pattern, is a lovely eye-catching example of why it is still so popular.

This trio is featured in the fresh green version of the 'Bands and Shades' pattern and is applied to the 'Eve' shape tea cup, which oozes pure Art Deco geometry, together with a matching round saucer and plate. 

The shape and pattern were first entered in Shelley catalogue around 1932 and thus firmly sit within the so-called Art Deco period. The style of backstamp was used between 1925 and 1940 and is further proof of its early 20th Century pedigree.

CONDITION

Remarkably good for such a delicate trio, which is probably around 90 years old and therefore close to being promoted from a vintage item to being an antique. There are no chips or cracks (see images)
