K24A 87mm Forged Performance Short Block – Track / Road Build
Price: £4,100
A fully built, precision-engineered K24A short block designed for high-performance road and circuit use. Developed through extensive real-world testing in K-swapped platforms including Lotus Elise / Exige, EP3, and DC5 applications.
This is not a budget rebuild — it is a carefully selected, blueprint-level engine designed for reliability under sustained load, high RPM operation, and track abuse.

DEVELOPMENT & DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
This engine package has been refined over years of real-world use in both road and dedicated track applications, particularly K-swapped Lotus Elise / Exige builds and high-output Honda platforms.
The K24 platform presents unique challenges in oil control and bearing stability under sustained high RPM. This build prioritises:
- Stable oil pressure to main and rod bearings
- Balanced rotating assembly for high RPM durability
- Controlled clearances for thermal stability under load
In track applications, this configuration has demonstrated exceptional durability with minimal bearing wear when maintained correctly.
POWER & APPLICATION
When paired with appropriate supporting modifications such as DC 004 cams and Supertech SPR-H1021D 92lb valve springs, this short block is capable of:
Estimated Output: 340–350bhp
Applications include:
- Lotus Elise / Exige K-swap builds
- Honda EP3 Type R
- Honda DC5 Integra Type R
- High-performance road or circuit builds
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Blocks are carefully selected — not all K24 cores are suitable for 87mm bore
- Some engines require rejection due to bore wear or ovality
- 87mm specification is preferred to maintain block strength and head gasket integrity
- Oil squirters may be blocked or omitted depending on application to optimise bearing oil pressure
WHY THIS BUILD IS DIFFERENT
Most budget K-series builds rely on generic bearing clearances and mixed aftermarket components.
This build is based on:
- OEM Honda precision components where critical
- Tight machining control (Rottler F10X blueprint standard)
- Proven track-tested configuration
- Consistent repeatability across multiple engines
This is a reliability-first performance engine, not a lowest-cost assembly, ready to ship
