This is a rare antique / vintage, "The Vale of Neath" soldering iron. It is being sold UNTESTED. In addition, there are signs of wear and tear as would be expected through age and use. These are primarily wear to the wooden handle and marks and nicks to the metal. These along with the general condition of the item can be seen in the photographs.

Dated 1920's mains or bottle gas not sure which untested, also a lid on top opens and compartment lookalike it is a reservoir for flux that would be heated when soldering and a lever is pulled which operates a sliding bar that opens a hole near the tip to fee the flux ( pretty sure ! ) .
