This set, "La Promenade," comprises two porcelain dolls from the Franklin Heirloom Gibson Girl Promenade collection, manufactured in 1988. The set includes a 22" doll and a 13" doll, both depicting the Gibson Girl franchise. The dolls have blue eyes and a fair complexion and come in their original, opened packaging. The set also includes a display stand and accessories, making it a sought-after collectible for vintage doll enthusiasts.
Both are made of fine porcelain and delicately hand-painted to capture their light complexions and sparkling eyes. Each has been authentically costumed in the fashions of the day.
The mother is dressed in a long, flowing lavender jacquard dress, complete with a traditional bustle and a graceful bodice of ivory charmeuse with a high collar trimmed in lace. Her large puffed sleeves are generously overlaid with ivory lace and accented with pink bows and faux pearls.
Her daughter's dress perfectly complements her own. Shiny pink satin with puffed sleeves trimmed in lace. Pantalets of matching pink satin. A lavender sash around her tiny waist and shiny white shoes with little lavender bows.
I am not a doll collector or expert; these were inherited, and I've described them to the best of my ability. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask prior to purchase.
