This is an early 1920's large tin litho
"AEROPLANE RACE 'ROUND THE WORLD FLIERS" Game Board by Wolverine. This is the
earlier version with the
Blimp / Zeppelin graphics in the corners instead of the later version with the spinners in the corners that was made in the late 1920's. Size: 11" square with rounded corners.
Very colorful with vibrant colors, country flags, world map with international locations spelled out on the outer circle. The flight starts and finishes in Seattle, Washington, with forced landings in Aleutian Island and Orkney Island. The title on the game shows prominently in one corner in a wonderful font; the directions are detailed in another corner using tiny print. The details of the directions describe airplanes so there must have been tiny airplanes for playing pieces in the original boxed game. The nostalgic old blimps and biplanes graphics are in 2 corners. The backside of the tin board is a green and yellow checkers / chess board.
There is minor wear shown where the spinner has spun for years. See all the photos to note really nice condition.
