A beautiful, pre-owned "Marlita" 5-string model, inheriting the DNA of Amrita, is now available!
First come, first served!
"Bacci" is a brand created by luthier Bruno Bacci in Tuscany, a region with Florence, the center of the Italian Renaissance, as its capital. Bruno utilizes his skills in various fields, from instrument making to metallurgy, marketing, large-scale manufacturing, and graphic design, imbuing each instrument with Tuscan pride and soul.
This is a rapidly rising brand that has gained attention with the "Amrita" PB-type bass, a favorite of Michael League, the leader of Snarky Puppy, on tour for the past few years, and the white baritone guitar used by Mark Lettieri, the band's guitarist, in Fearless Flyers music videos.
Michael League of Snarky Puppy has been using this model on tour since around 2019. It's a unique model that deliberately uses woodworm alder (a type of alder with insect damage) as the tonewood for the body. This "Marlita" model inherits that DNA and is a reconstruction of the "Marleo" body shape.
This instrument is a passive model featuring an alder body with recessed woodworm inlays, a 1-piece figured maple neck and fingerboard, and a custom-wound P-pickup from Dreamsongs. Its powerful sound is sure to appeal to players.
The open and straightforward sound, characteristic of passive guitars, faithfully reproduces the complex harmonic components often lost with preamps and shielding. The narrow string spacing of approximately 17.5mm is surprisingly comfortable to play, and it offers particularly smooth playability for two-finger styles.
While possessing the deep character reminiscent of vintage instruments, this Bacci is not merely a rehash of past works. Each part exudes originality, resulting in a truly unique instrument. From the subtly placed inlays on the fretboard, the engraved neck joint plate, and the uniquely designed bridge unit, to the original hard case and certificate of authenticity, every detail reflects meticulous craftsmanship.
In terms of condition, there are some minor scratches on various parts of the body, but the neck, fretboard, and frets are in excellent condition with no significant damage. The truss rod and electronics are also functioning perfectly. (The strings have been replaced with different ones than those shown in the photos.)
A Bacci that even vintage bass users should try.
Please give it a try!
