A superb porcelain Herend, Hungary sculpture 'Man with a Rearing Horse' or 'Pferdebandiger', meaning horse tamer. Number 5470. A rearing horse is being tamed by a man, he seems to be struggling a bit! Wonderful movement to the figurine, it looks different from every angle. Delicately hand painted. The dappling on the horses rear is particularly subtle. Blue Herend backstamp, impressed 'Herend' also and the number is inscribed into the porcelain. It measures 25.3cm to the tip of the horses ear and measures 20cm by 12.5cm at the base. No chips or cracks, a few marks to the unglazed base.  Please see photos.
