DIMENSIONS:
The hair receiver has a diameter of 4 7/8" with a height of 1 7/8".  With the lid in place, the height is 3 1/8".

HISTORY/MARKS:
Begun in the 1850's, Vogt & Dose became Tressemann & Vogt when Emillien Tressemann joined the company in 1882.  This was essentially a decorating studio which began manufacturing their own china in 1891 in Limoges, France.  The company continued until it was dissolved due to the retirement of Tressemann in 1907.  From 1907-1919, the company operated as Porcelain Gustave Vogt under the direction of Gustave Vogt, John Vogt's son, and continued to use the T&V mark.  T&V is well known for its quality whiteware and boldly decorated hand paintings.  The marks used on this item are the manufacturers underglaze mark in green referenced in Mary Frank Gaston's Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, 3rd edition as mark #7 used after 1892-1907.  This makes the circa 1892-1907.
