In 1723, Nazar Druzhinin and Sergei Aksenov founded a glass factory in Mozhaisky district on the empty lands of Shiryaev and Kudinov. A year later, Vasily Maltsov was accepted as a partner, who in 1730 became the sole owner of the plant. In 1746, the enterprise passed into the hands of Vasily’s sons, Akim and Alexander. By this time, production had expanded significantly. 64 craftsmen worked here. In the middle of the century, this enterprise was the largest in Russia in terms of equipment.
