LARGE 4ft x 1ft / 122cm x 30.5cm - 100% ORIGINAL PAINTED METAL SIGN - VERY GOOD CONDITION

For sale here is an absolutely unique mid-century vintage painted metal business sign which once advertised the famous architects Scherrer And Hicks, this came from the estate of a guy who looks to have once worked for the company as a Draughtsman, rather than being outside of the office address I suspect this was displayed outside one of their building projects but that is only a hunch and archive photographs of Harcourt House or some of their building projects may shine more light on this.

The sign appears to be of painted metal construction, it measures approximately 122cm x 30.5cm / 4ft x 1ft.

CONDITION: Sign is in very good condition for its age and was stored inside against the back of a steel garage for many decades, indeed it had probably laid undisturbed since the 1960's as it was filthy dirty until I gave it a wash! There is some paint loss to the corners at the fixing points and some bending at those points as well, there are various small marks and very small areas of damage elsewhere but as you can see from the photographs this is in remarkably good order.

I am pretty confident this will be a sole surviving example of this sign, a genuine piece of Architectural and London history this looks awesome on display, in need of a good new home, I have priced it very fairly but I am in no hurry to part with this so I am not accepting offers.
