An original WW2 British Army map of Germany entitled "DUISBURG", a major industrial city at the confluence of the Rhine and Ruhr rivers. Its critical inland port facilities and rail links to the entire Ruhr Valley made it a regular target for Allied bombing raids. In the weeks following the production of this map, the Allies had advanced to the West bank of the Rhine opposite Duisburg at the culmination of Operation Grenade.
