Epiphone's Les Paul Special Double Cut!
The Gibson Les Paul Special was designed as an evolution of the Les Paul Junior, featuring two P-90 pickups instead of the Junior's single P-90, resulting in greater sonic versatility.
Furthermore, the addition of fingerboard binding and a mother-of-pearl headstock logo enhanced its visual appeal, positioning it between the Les Paul Standard and Les Paul Junior in the lineup.
The Les Paul Special first appeared in 1955 as a single-cutaway model, transitioning to a double-cutaway body in 1958 for improved access to the upper frets.
In 1960, a thinner, slimmer taper neck profile and a repositioned rhythm pickup increased neck stability and further improved playability.
Epiphone is now releasing the Les Paul Special Double Cut Figured.
This model inherits the high playability characteristic of the Les Paul Special while elevating its visual appeal.
The Les Paul Special's double-cutaway mahogany body features a beautiful AAA-grade figured maple veneer top with binding.
The mahogany neck has a slim taper profile for quick playability, a bound rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and acrylic dot position marker inlays.
The 60s-style Kalamazoo headstock is equipped with Grover Rotomatic tuners and features an inlaid mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo.
The electronics also differ from the conventional Les Paul Special.
Instead of the typical P-90 single-coil pickups, it features two highly acclaimed Epiphone ProBucker humbuckers: a ProBucker 2 in the neck position and a slightly higher-output ProBucker 3 in the bridge position. The combination of individual pickup volume and tone controls, along with a 3-way toggle switch, provides high operability and a wide range of sound variations.
A premium gig bag is included.
