This is a rare JVC AL-F333 "Component" Turntable. Unlike standard decks, this was designed as part of a high-end integrated stack. It features a hingeless chassis (the original lid was a lift-off style) and a DC power connection designed to plug directly into the matching JVC amplifier.
The front control panel is in incredible condition because the original factory protective clear film is still attached to the "Start/Stop" and "Speed Select" buttons. The gold lettering and black finish underneath have been preserved for 35+ years. I am leaving this film on so the buyer can be the first to peel it.
Automatic System: Verified via video. The tonearm lifts, moves to the record, and returns perfectly.
Auto-Size Select: The platter sensors correctly detect record size (a premium feature).
Strobe & Speed: The built-in strobe light is active, and the platter maintains a steady, reliable spin.
Tonearm/Needle: Includes the original JVC T4P Tracing Hold System tonearm with a functional stylus (needle) present.
No Dust Cover: This unit was designed for a lift-off lid; no lid is included.
Hingeless Design: There are no hinges or hinge-mounts on the back of this chassis. It is a clean, flat-back design.
Platter Condition: The aluminum platter shows surface oxidation/spotting (see photos). This does not affect playback but would benefit from a light polish to return it to a mirror finish.
Power Cord: Note that this unit uses the specialized DC power plug designed for JVC integrated systems.
I know how to ship vintage audio. This unit will be prepared for a safe trip:
Platter Removed: The metal platter will be pulled from the spindle and wrapped separately to protect the motor.
Arm Locked: The tonearm will be secured to the rest with a tie.
No Plastic Contact: Bubble wrap will not touch the factory film directly to ensure no residue is left.
