The GBNY-1 is a semi-acoustic guitar with a unique sound design that is surprisingly hard to find, thanks to its superbly balanced construction.
The body features a spruce top and an all-spruce center block (not maple).
While most semi-acoustic guitars use maple for the body top and center block, this construction adds a full-acoustic-like resonance and nuance, achieving a pleasant sweetness, depth, and a clear, focused tone. Beautiful flame maple is used for the back and sides.
The neck is a 3-piece construction of maple, walnut, and maple, with an ebony fingerboard and a medium scale length.
The neck shape has a moderate thickness, creating a tone with focus and definition.
Equipped with original humbucking pickups.
The crisp rear pickup, mellow front pickup, and clear center position, when used in conjunction with volume and tone controls, offer a wide range of expressions, covering genres from rock to blues, soul, neo-soul, hip-hop, and jazz. The assembly also utilizes carefully selected parts and NOS (New Old Stock) capacitors.
The finger tailpiece design allows for long string strokes to extend to the body end, resonating the entire top and strongly conveying the sweetness and airiness characteristic of hollow-body guitars.
