Maruzen 130th Anniversary 14K Medium Nib Yellow Black Gold Trim Pilot Con-70N To celebrate the founding of Maruzen in 1869, the company has released several limited edition pens on important anniversaries. This is the beautiful yellow ‘Lemon’ model released in 1999. I believe there were only 1000 of these made, and whilst it’s not impossible to find, there are rarely more than a few examples for sale at any given time. Writing feel - The nib was smooth, quite wet. There’s very little feedback and as someone who likes the pen to glide it was very comfortable. There was a little flex, not massive amounts, but I tried it on the test card with vertical strokes. Nib condition - the nib is beautiful and as far as I can see doesn’t have any surface scratches. Theres no dulling or fading, and all the markings are still clear. The tines are well aligned and the nib is straight. Section & Feed - The unit hasn’t been disassembled but has been soaked for cleaning. The feed works well. The grip section is in good shape, with no cracks or splits, no ink stains and no visible scratches. Cap - There are no dents or cracks, no major scratches. There are two small dark spots which I believe is just dust (couple of centimetres above the final A in ‘anniversary’ on the cap band). I will double check at some point. There are no visible surface scratches, and overall it’s in amazing shape. The cap fits well and the cap screws on smoothly. Clip and trim - The clip is tight and in good shape, with no big scratches, although there are some very light surface scratches running horizontally along the length. The trim is equally well preserved and doesn’t show dulling, scratches or pitting. Barrel - No cracks or marks, there’s a few barely visible surface scratches, but again overall it’s in amazing shape. Accessories - Comes with a Pilot Con-70N converter as it has Pilot parts and the open top pouch and test card shown. The pouch is double layered and very snug (see last photo). Shipped from the U.K. Returns only for un-inked or damaged pens.
