About the location...

I'm actually from West Palm Beach, grew up and lived there for over 30 years. Christopher's in Fort Lauderdale was a landmark nightlife venue, operating from 1977 until early 2014. Famous for its 70s/80s music, large dance floor, and as a popular "see and be seen" spot for a mature crowd, it survived a 1987 fire, rebranding into a "born-again success" with popular Ladies' Nights. I went there once in my 20s and felt VERY out of place; I was the youngest person there by at least 15 years.
