This is a Buy-It-Now sale for a GOTEK USB floppy drive emulator, with black casing suitable for the entire BBC Micro range, including Acorn Electron, where a floppy disk interface is fitted. Comes with cables, Sandisk 32GB USB stick, and intro leaflet.

This is the later type AT435 GOTEK USB Floppy emulator, for the BBC Micro range and Acorn Electron, where equipped with a Disk Interface. This version has a faster CPU with more memory, and a larger 3 line screen, to make seeing the image and folder details easier. A sounding speaker for emulating the track stepping sounds has been fitted. It has then been updated with the latest FlashFloppy firmware, and set up for use with the BBC Micro range. A set of rubber feet are fitted on the bottom of the drive, to stop it sliding around on your desk.

The USB drive allows you to place disk images, such as SSD, DSD and ADF for ADFS (if you have it) on a USB drive, then scroll through them using the controls on the front of the GOTEK, and select which disk image you want to use for that drive. Press the encoder, and the image is loaded, and is read by the Beeb, as if it were a regular floppy drive. Sub directories can be navigated in the same way, select the directory by pressing the encoder, and move back up the directory tree by selecting image 000, and pressing the encoder again.

Of course, just like a real floppy drive, you can also write information to disk images on the USB stick, so you can save your BASIC programs, other text and data, as well as save games if the game has that facility. The USB stick also comes with sample blank images for DFS, ADFS, and Watford DDFS. You can make duplicates of these either on the GOTEK itself, or on your PC to use as blank disk images for saving data etc. Connect this up via a dual cable to a real floppy drive, and you can also make disk images on the USB stick from real floppies, or vice versa - make new floppy disks from disk images already on the USB stick, new images you create, or ones you download from the web.

Included in this sale is a 32GB USB stick, which I've loaded over 1,000 disk images to get you started, into several directories, including the boot disks for the Z80 CP/M, 32016 Cambridge Co Processor and DOS 80x86 Co Processors, as well as support files for the 6809 and ARM Cores. There's PLENTY of room for more, and it's a simple case of downloading what you want from the net straight to the USB drive, and pop it in the GOTEK to load it up. Also included is an intro leaflet, which explains how to use the GOTEK drive with the BBC Micro, as well as information on updating the firmware, and errors should you encounter them.

Comes complete with the cables required to connect to a BBC Micro for both data and power. To use the GOTEK drive, your machine will need to be fitted with a Disk Filing System. All Master 128s come with these fitted, as do most Model B+. For the Model B, please check to ensure you have a suitable one fitted. For an Acorn Electron, you will require a suitable disk interface, such as a PRES AP3/4 or Pegasus plugged into a Plus 1, and a separate power supply for the GOTEK. I can supply a separate UK style power adapter, fitted with the correct plug at additional cost if required.

NOTE: The pictures above may show our example unit running an earlier version of firmware. The ones in this listing will be supplied with the latest stable release, which is v3.44. The USB drives in this sale may come with a different colour and/or style stick to the one pictured, but will still be a genuine Sandisk brand with 32GB capacity.
