    Stain Cleaning Process (this method has been used to clean 100’s of shirts with good results, portions of this process can be repeated as necessary)

    1.      Add 1-2 gallons cold water to bucket or deep sink (cold water reduces chance of colored sleeves bleeding into white areas)

    2.      Dissolve ½ cup Borax powder (optional: add Oxi Clean for additional cleaning action)

    3.      Add 1 – 1.5 cups of 3% hydrogen peroxide

    4.      Submerge only the body of the shirt into the cleaning solution, keeping the colored sleeves dry and out of the water. This helps prevent dye from the sleeves bleeding into the white fabric during soaking. Drape the sleeves over the edge of the tub or basin to keep them elevated and separate from the solution to maximum extent possible.

    5.      Soak for at least 2 days.

    6.      After soaking, wash shirts in cold water with detergent and a few color-absorbing pads (such as a Shout or Carbona Color Catcher) to help absorb dyes. Liquid or powder Oxi Clean can be used in wash cycle for added cleaning power.

    7.      Remove the shirt from the washer immediately after the cycle ends. Leaving it in the drum while damp can cause colored sleeves in contact with white areas to bleed onto the white fabric causing light discoloration.

    8.      Dry on low heat or hang dry
