Extremely well made Shigaraki Kohiki chawan teabowl by the master potter Sugimoto Sadamitsu.

It is clearly marked with the most modern version of his signature mark and it comes in its original signed wooden box. There is no damage; the bowl is in good condition. There is very small signs of use such a light tea stains on the interior bottom (the crackling on the bottom turns dark from use). The wooden box might show some minor signs of age such as slightly warped lid.

In my opinion Sugimoto Sadamitsu is the most talented modern Chawan maker. His bowls are not attention demanding but deserve all the attention they can get. Subtle, spiritual, and masterfully made, I highly recommend his work.
