Zemaitis CAF-80HCW NAT
Description
Zemaitis CAF-80HCW Acoustic-Electric Guitar, in Excellent Condition
Zemaitis acoustic guitars are popular for their heart-shaped soundhole design. Once used by rock legends like Ron Wood, Eric Clapton, and George Harrison, they've recently become popular with singer-songwriters like Kobukuro and CHAY, and are increasingly seen in the media. While Zemaitis acoustic guitars were once expensive and difficult to obtain, licensed production in Asia has made them more affordable.
This guitar features a 392mm wide, approximately 15-inch cutaway body. The top is solid spruce, the sides and back are laminated sapele, and it has a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The bridge is the original mustache design.
The headstock is decorated with a diamond Z inlay. The nut width is 43mm, the scale length is 630mm, and the nut and saddle are made of bone.
This guitar features an all-satin finish and scalloped X-bracing, resulting in a rich, full-bodied acoustic sound.
The onboard controls on the side of the body include volume, a 3-band equalizer, and a tuner. It also features a built-in preamp and active pickup system, allowing for direct plugging into an amp or DI box in the studio or live setting.
Regarding the condition, there are minor scratches from normal use, but no significant damage. There is some paint lifting on the binding on the left side of the front of the body top. A strap pin is attached to the heel cap.
The string height at the 12th fret is 2.6mm for the 6th string and 2.1mm for the 1st string. There is ample saddle height, and the truss rod functions correctly. Fret wear is minimal, and it should be maintenance-free for the foreseeable future.
Despite its low price, this guitar offers solid volume, balanced sound, and excellent playability. Recommended for those looking for an electro-acoustic model. Includes the original gig bag.
