CARE & WEAR NOTES:

·         For the first couple of washes, it is recommended to wash this garment alone due to possible color bleeding.

STAIN CLEANING PROCESS (Proven Method):

This process has been used to clean hundreds of vintage shirts with excellent results, including both contrast-sleeve baseball t-shirts and solid color garments. Portions of this method can be repeated as necessary.

1. Add 1 to 2 gallons of cold water to a bucket or deep sink (cold water reduces the chance of dye bleeding or color migration).

2. Dissolve 1 half cup Borax powder (optional: add Oxi Clean for additional cleaning action).

3. Add 1 to 1.5 cups of 3% hydrogen peroxide.

4. Submerge only the body of the shirt into the cleaning solution when possible. If the shirt has contrasting sleeves or panels, keep those areas dry and out of the water to help prevent dye transfer. Drape sleeves or colored sections over the edge of the tub or basin to keep them elevated and separate from the solution as much as possible.

5. Soak for a minimum of 48 hours.

6. After soaking, wash in cold water with detergent and a few color-absorbing pads (such as Shout or Carbona Color Catcher) to capture any released dye. Liquid or powder Oxi Clean may be added for additional cleaning power.

7. Remove the shirt immediately after the wash cycle completes. Allowing it to remain damp in the drum can cause dye to transfer onto lighter fabric areas.

8. Dry on low heat or hang dry.
