⚠️ If you have another New 3DS, New 3DS XL, or New 2DS XL with an Optimize or Katsukity capture card, you can not use it simultaneously with this capture card. It will break it. You can use this with any other capture card.

Every feature is described in greater detail below.
FAQ and disclaimers at the bottom.
A USB-C cable is included.
Setup instructions are included.
An OEM stylus is included.
No SD card is included.
No game is included.
USB-C Charge Port:
The original charge port has been replaced with a USB-C port. This port is for charging and for capturing.
Plug it into a computer to use the capture card.
Optimize Capture Card:
This allows you to capture digital video and audio via USB and a viewer. This works in any mode. Anything that shows up on the console's screens will show up in the viewer.
The official viewer is only available for Windows, but thanks to Lorenzooone's cc3dsfs, this capture card can now also be used on Mac, Linux, and Raspberry Pi.
Instructions included are still only for Windows, but cc3dsfs is not difficult to set up either.
The capture card was originally installed by Katsukity, and the port was originally at the bottom, next to the headphone jack. It has been relocated, and the hole has been filled. It now serves as an indicator for the bluetooth module.
Bluetooth Audio Mod:
(This doesn't affect wired headphones if you want to use those instead).
This N2DS XL has a Bluetooth audio transmitter installed. This allows you to use bluetooth headphones or speakers with the console.
Usage is simple:
• Press X + B + ZL + Up to turn the module on. This will cut off audio to the speakers.
• Press X + B + ZL + Down to turn the module off. Entering Sleep Mode will also turn the module off.
• Press and hold X + B + ZL + Left or Right for a few seconds to enter Pairing Mode.
The red LED will only light up once an audio device is connected.
The module is powered by the console itself, so no need to carry any other device or worry about making sure it's charged. This does mean that the console battery life is reduced when in use, but you don't have to use it if you don't want to.
It is not connected directly to the battery. When the console is off, the module is off. When in Sleep Mode, the module is off.
⚠️ There is some static noise that's audible at lower volume or quiet moments. My recommendation is to max out the console's volume slider and then bring down your Bluetooth device's volume to reasonable levels to reduce the noise as much as possible.
External Controller Mod:
This controller mod was made specifically for the "New" 3DS models. It supports the Wii Classic controller and will come with a BlueRetro adapter.
Only Wii Classic controllers and adapters are compatible. Nunchucks, guitars, and other accessories are not compatible. The BlueRetro adapter is compatible with the majority of first party Bluetooth controllers and popular 3rd party controllers.
You will receive a 4-pin cable with a Wii extension port attached. It will plug into the header socket hidden under the flap.
The Wii Classic controller is mapped 1-to-1 with the console, except for the right analog stick, which only inputs full-tilt cardinal and diagonal directions (functioning similarly to a d-pad or an 8-way joystick).
The on-board c-stick still functions as normal and is unaffected by the mod.
I highly recommend using rehid with this mod. Rehid allows you to remap all the buttons and the touchscreen. For this mod, I recommend utilizing ZL, ZR, and the c-stick to interact with the touch screen since most games do not use them.
Rehid does not work with DS games, so there are some built-in functions for ZL, ZR, and the c-stick. These can still be used in 3DS games.
ZL and ZR remapping:
ZL and ZR can be remapped to ABXY, L and R, and any d-pad direction, with or without turbo.
To use, press the following combination:
[ZL or ZR] + [Start or Select] + [desired button]
Examples:
ZL + Y + Select = When ZL is pressed, Y is being turbo pressed.
ZR + A + Start = When ZR is pressed, A is pressed.
This affects both the console and controller.
Right Stick remapping:
The right analog stick has built in remaps.
0. Default, mapped to c-stick.
1. Mapped to ABXY.
2. Mapped to the d-pad.
3. Mapped to L and R (up and down do nothing).
Compatible Adapters:
There are adapters that you can use with this mod to use other controllers. You will receive a BlueRetro adapter already, so these are for wired controllers:
• Mayflash's GameCube-to-Wii adapter
- This one inputs Start/Select/Home based on how long you hold Start on the GC controller. This makes it impossible to input Start and Select simultaneously, locking you out of soft resetting in DS games. To remedy this, pressing L + R + Select will also input Start so that you can soft reset.
- Despite stating otherwise, this adapter does support the WaveBird. It also supports the WavePhoenix. Some aftermarket GameCube controller motherboards also work with it, such as the GC+ 2.0.
• Mayflash's S/NES-to-Wii adapter
- This one supports mapping the SNES d-pad to the left analog stick. Some games only allow you to move via the circle pad, so this can be useful.
• Hyperkin's SNES-to-Wii adapter
- This one does not support mapping the SNES d-pad to the left analog stick. Some games may not be playable at all with this adapter, like Super Mario 3D Land.
I haven't tested other adapters.
Condition:
This N2DS XL is used but fully functional. It is in overall good condition.
Both screens are TN.
F.A.Q. (and some repeated information):
"Does the USB-C port also charge the console?"
Yes.
"Is this a Loopy capture card?"
No. This capture card is from Optimize, which is the exact same Katsukity used. Katsukity installed the capture card's port as a micro USB port next to the headphone jack, which I've relocated and replaced with USB-C, and made it also charge the console.
"Does the capture card work with [game/mode]?"
Yes. Anything that shows up on the screens will show up in the viewer. DS games will work.
"Does the controller mod work with [game/mode]?"
Mostly yes. The controller mod is able to input any button except for the power button and touch screen. Most games are playable with just the controller with occasional touch screen and gyro use. For example, Kirby: Triple Deluxe requires gyro in one section to progress, and afterwards it is optional.
"Can I soft reset?"
Yes. Soft resetting does not affect the capture card or the controller mod.
"Does this work with Mac or Linux?"
"cc3dsfs" by Lorenzooone works.
"Does this output via HDMI?"
No. A computer is needed. If you want something small, it is compatible with cc3dsfs, which works on Raspberry Pis (4 or later recommended). Optimize also offers their own Raspberry Pi viewer software, but I recommend using cc3dsfs.
"Does Bluetooth affect the battery life?"
Only when turned on does the Bluetooth module draw power. When off, it does not use any power. If you don't want to use this mod, your experience won't be affected in any way.
Disclaimers/Warnings:
1. Charge the console before capturing. If you get frequent blackouts and the battery is low, this is likely why. The other problem may be the USB port you are using. If it doesn't provide enough power, the same issue will appear.
You can also try using an externally powered USB 3 hub, since they provide more power per port.
2. Performance is dependent on your PC's USB controller. Some PCs can not handle the bandwidth requirements, and you may need to reduce the color range, disable audio, limit the FPS to 30, or a combination of the three. You may also need to disconnect other high bandwidth or high-speed speed USB devices, like an older audio interface.
