A hugely popular model that continues to enjoy immense popularity even after production has ceased.
A moderately used 2012 HD-28V is now available!
The HD-28V can be described as a model that revives the pre-war D-28, with herringbone inlays bordering the body and diamond square inlays on the fretboard.
Originally, it was the 15th model ordered when Martin's Custom Shop was established in 1979, and due to its high popularity, it became a regular lineup in 1996.
Not only does it have a vintage-like appearance, but the scalloped bracing and long saddle contribute to a powerful sound, resulting in a superior finish. Even though production has ceased, there are still many who hope for its re-release, making it one of Martin's most celebrated instruments.
Regarding the condition, there are some scratches and dents commensurate with its age, and the paint finish shows a slight clouding, but there is no damage that significantly detracts from its appearance.
The binding peeling due to aging has been repaired, and the gap at the bottom of the neck heel where the joint is located has been filled with a matching colored part.
The neck was reset upon arrival, and currently there is no warping, maintaining a nearly straight condition.
There is a slight bulge on the body top, but the current string height at the 12th fret is approximately 2.3mm on the 6th string side and approximately 1.7mm on the 1st string side, an ideal setting with excellent playability.
The above string height is the value at the time of listing and may fluctuate slightly depending on the period of display in the store.
The frets have been leveled, but still have about 70-80% remaining, and there are no buzzing issues.
The truss rod has just under 90 degrees of adjustment remaining, and the saddle height is approximately 3mm from the top of the bridge on both the 6th and 1st string sides.
The back of the neck has been lightly over-lacquered, but it has the same matte finish as the original, resulting in a seamless look. A strap pin has been added to the heel.
The pickup is a KK Pure Mini, which has recently gained attention after being installed on Eric Clapton's guitar, and it can output a warm sound that makes the most of the natural tone.
Further adjustments have been made to the nut, saddles, and other details, making this a guitar you can play with confidence.
The top shows some weather checking in places, and combined with the moderate aging, it has an exquisite, well-worn look.
Although it was made in 2012, it still has plenty of room to improve, but the sound when strumming chords is pleasantly resonant, showing that it has been used moderately.
This is a highly sought-after model in the used market, so if you've been looking for one, don't hesitate!
