First and Second Series Garbage Pail Kids are special. They're Gen X's Pokémon. And because they're stickers and were geared towards ten-year-olds back in 1985, many ended up on Trapper Keepers and not a lot of high-grade examples exist today.

Many sports cards from the 1980's have tens-of -thousands of PSA 9's and thousands of PSA 10's, while the average population for a 1985 Series 1 Garbage Pail Kid in PSA 9 is about 150 copies. And they average about 40 copies in PSA 10.

The Glossy version is even more rare, averaging about 50 PSA 9's and 20 PSA 10's.

Couple this rarity with the fact that the box price that these cards come from sells generally in excess of $15,000 and the much more stringent standards of PSA. Over the last 3 years, Series 1 Garbage Pail Kids that receive a PSA 9 or 10 have plummeted from around 30% for a PSA 9 and 10% for PSA 10 to around 10% for a PSA 9 and 2% for a PSA 10. That represents a massive 66% and 80% reduction in supply.

When you consider these dynamics and also recognize that the typical Garbage Pail Kid enthusiast is now 50 years old, and in the peak buying stage of their life, I believe these cards provide a lot of value going forward.

Your GPK will be packed professionally in a sturdy box or bubble mailer and will be mailed via USPS generally within 48 hours of purchase.
