A leather bound edition of the Book of Common Prayer dating to 1815. The Book of Common Prayer is used by Anglicans, with this edition printed for the Church of England. It first appeared in 1549 following the English Reformation, and has seen many different versions, editions and reprints. Lutheran, Presbyterian and Methodist churches have also borrowed from the Book of Common Prayer.A charming and loved copy of this important religious work.  

 

Externally asome rubbing, with some loss to the leather at the base of the spine and a worn paper label on the spine. Corners are also a little rubbed. Ownership inscription to the front blank. Internally, generally firmly bound, with front hinge strained but remaining firm. Pages are bright and clean with just occasional age-toning. Good.

Note This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use.
