Woodfired Iga chawan by the artist artist Shuji Okami (1953–).
Studied under Michio Furutani and Kawase Mitsuo. A strong example of wood-fired minimalism — rough-surfaced, ash-affected Iga at its best. Signed by the artist near the base. Comes with the original signed wooden box, original cloth, and artist CV.

No damage. No tea stains. Excellent condition but there is a firing-related kiln crack that causes leaking (see last two photos).

The previous owner mentioned they bought this in 1997 from an exhibition at the Kikuchi Kanjitsu Memorial Tomo Museum. However, there is no documentation to confirm this.
