This is a used Fender Japan STD-57 2TS.
While the E serial number usually indicates a manufacturing period up to 1987, this unit has an "88" written on the neck, so we believe it was manufactured in 1988.
It features a maple neck/maple fingerboard and a 2-tone sunburst finish in a '57 style.
Based on the color and grain of the wood visible through the neck pocket, the body material is likely basswood.
The actual weight is approximately 3.40kg.
There are no problems with the playing condition, and it is recommended for those looking for an easily usable Japanese vintage guitar.
It is in used condition with scratches on the body (including paint chipping) and rust on the bridge.
There are pick scratches on the pickguard.
The entire body has dents, scratches, and scuffs the size of a pen tip, grain of rice, and bean. There are several scratches with paint chipping on the edges of the body sides.
There is a small paint chip at the neck joint.
There are multiple paint cracks near the elbow on the top and on the back.
There is a lot of rust on the bridge and screws. The movement of the octave adjustment screws, string height adjustment screws, and other movable parts has been confirmed to be working correctly.
The tremolo arm appears to have been replaced because the cap color is different from the other plastic parts. There are no problems with installation or movement.
There is a small scratch on the tip of the headstock.
Other than that, there are minor scratches and dirt throughout from playing.
The frets have slight wear on the 1st and 2nd frets, but this does not affect playability. Over 60% of the frets remain. The truss rod has a range of motion in both tightening and loosening directions.
