These 3 antique original photos feature Army serviceman James Alvin Slusher, his wife Alice Slusher, his sister Elizabeth Lorene Slusher Smith, Wentworth Military School, & 2 Ford Model Ts.
The photos are black & white landscape images taken on paper using a gelatin-silver print technique. They are unframed and showcase a vintage feel, making them unique one-of-a-kind pieces from the early 1918 to 1927.

3) An approximately 2.5 x 4.25 inch 1927 photograph of Alice & Jim Slusher with his sister Elizabeth Lorene Slusher Smith in front of Wentworth Military School in Lexington, MO. Two Ford Model-T’s are also in the photograph.
Bio: James Alvin Slusher born November 24, 1885, to Victoria Alberta “Birdie” Payne (1859-1957) & James Monroe Slusher (1849-?). He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri, then joined the Army in 1911. Served in the Philippines & France during WWI. He was in the Headquarters 33rd Company of the Missouri Engineering 69th, in the Electrical Branch of the Regiment Coast Artillery Corps. He married Alice Eunice (?) who was born in New York in 1887. While James served in the army, Alice Eunice taught school in San Francisco, CA., & they had two daughters Dorothy Slusher Carney & Beatrice Slusher Harrison. James died of a stroke at only 47 years old in 1933, & Alice died in 1960. Elizabeth Lorene Slusher Smith was James’ older sister. Born in 1882, at 19 years old she married Pearl Ragland Smith, a local attorney who died in 1915 of tuberculosis. Elizabeth & Pearl had one daughter, Alberta “Birdie” Louise Smith (1902-1976) who in 1930 married Benjamin Eaton Slusher (1900-1982).
