ARGO Transacord Recording

Great Central Engines

1966, 7” vinyl, EAF116 (Mono)

You are bidding on a 1966, 7” vinyl recording of the ‘Great Central Engines’ at work; on the G. W. & G. C. Joint line and at Manchester, Darlington, Staveley and Retford.

Side 1:

An ‘A.5’, ‘The Master Cutler’ and an ‘N.5’ on The G. W. and G. C. line; a ‘Director’ leaving Manchester Central; an ‘A.5/2’ leaving Darlington.

Side 2:

A ‘Director’ leaving Nottingham Midland; An ‘04/3’ at Staveley.  At Retford South Crossing; an ‘04/3’ running light, a ‘J.11/3’ with a passenger train and a ‘J.11’ with a goods train.

Condition:

Based on observation: The vinyl is Nr Mint (both sides) and the centre label (both sides) looks to be Nr Mint with no wear at all around the spindle as one would expect if hardly played.  The vinyl is housed in its original plastic sleeve, many of which go missing, and is fully intact.  The sleeve is VG showing some creasing bottom-front left from being in storage.  Otherwise, this is probably as near to a Nr Mint vinyl copy you will get for an item that is 60 years old.
