This vintage piece was inherited from my grandmother's estate and am looking to downsize on some small antiques stored in the basement: this ceramic set of playing card ashtrays comes with its ceramic holder, circa mid 1940's to the early 1950's.

It appears that portions of the finish on each playing card have been stripped away; there are some signs of staining which tells me that these were previously used for their utilitarian purpose. The Queen of Hearts ashtray does suffer from chipping to the pottery on the reverse side.

Please note that this is not a complete set -- the Ace ashtray is missing.
