For sale is a classic Angénieux Type10 25-250mm T3.9 zoom lens with a PL mount for 35mm cameras.
The workhorse lens of so many late 1960s movies like The Good, The Bad And The Ugly.
Bought from an older owner/operator in the UK some years ago. He had had it for decades and used it for shooting art films on 35mm. So it's seen quite a little use and had been taken care of really well.
The lens has been attached with a PL mount adapter and it has been collimated. A lens technician has also recalibrated the inner elements so it's pretty much as good as it gets without rehousing the elements. Although it's still a lens that performs the best after stopping the lens down at least two stops. It won't perform as well as a modern lens in terms of keeping the focus in every part of the range if wide open. Or at least your focus puller going to like you more if you stop it down a bit! But it has wonderful character, beautiful rendering and the flares are exceptional.
There's also a metal focus gear attached for modern follow focus systems. A rubber zoom gear has been attached that works ok especially with an included Chrosziel fluid zoom control / dampener that makes even slower zooms more managable.
Condition:
The lens is in good overall condition for its age.
Glass:
Clean with no major scratches or fungus. Coatings are good. Very minor internal dust consistent with vintage optics. No significant issues affecting image quality.
Mechanics:
Focus, zoom, and iris all operate well. Aperture is working properly.
