Fantastic Shigaraki sake bottle by Michio Furutani (1948-2000) who was one of the most important 1st generation anagama - woodfired Shigaraki and Iga pottery revivalist.

Likely late career 1990s piece. The firing is fine. Mostly gray from the vitrified ash glaze with straight lined transition to the natural fired brown / orange colors of the clay. The tokkuri has the artist signature on the bottom near the sticker. Comes with the original signed wooden box and accessories. The ribbon of the wooden box is still unattached. I can attach it if requested but otherwise I will leave in the box as it was when I bought it.

No visible signs of use or odors. There is no damage or repairs. Near the bottom rim there is this thin slice of glay going around the bottle and there are some gray areas where the surface might have crumpled but I dont consider them to be damage. I took few close up photos for you to decide because in some angles they looked like damage but I dont think they are.
