1913 Denmark Queen Alexandrine Newborns Lucky Penny brass token by Andreas Hansen

This Art Nouveau style 27mm brass token was struck between 1913 and 1920 by noted Danish sculptor Andreas F.V. Hansen as a lucky penny that was often given to celebrate newborn babies.

 

Obverse: profile of Queen Alexandrine, the consort of King Christian X, with the inscription "ALEXANDRINE DANMARKS DRONNING" (Alexandrine, Queen of Denmark).

 

Reverse: "LYKKE" (Luck), along with ears of grain, a star, and flowers.

 

Condition: High collector’s grade with a pleasing natural uncleaned patina.
