Up for sale is a genuine piece of Australian social and industrial history: a "Half Loaf" bread token from the Lithgow Co-operative Society Limited, New South Wales.

These tokens were a staple of early 20th-century life in mining towns like Lithgow. Residents would purchase these tokens in advance from the Co-op and leave them out for the delivery driver to exchange for fresh bread, eliminating the need for cash transactions at the doorstep.
