1930’s Amusement Arcade TIVOLI early pinball machine token by
Solomon Shefras
Solomon Shefras formed his first slot machine related
business in 1925, and his first arcade slot machines were based upon the
antique Tivoli early coin-operated amusement machines, popular in the late 19th
and early 20th centuries, that function as a precursor to modern pinball.
The Tivoli machines were often referred to as a
"bagatelle" game, these machines are characterized by a wooden,
glass-covered playing field where a player uses a plunger to launch a ball or
marble, navigating pins to land in scoring pockets.
