The Setting
The Lincolnshire Fens: great open skies brood over marshes, farmland, and nature reserves. It is not easy terrain for the Fenland Constabulary to police: with remote Fen villages, dangerous and often misty lanes, and poor telephone coverage. There are still villages where the oldest residents have never set foot outside their own farmland. A visit to the nearest town is a major event. But it has a strange airy beauty to it, and above it all are the biggest skies you’ve ever seen.
Shadow Over the Fens (Book 2)
Two brutal killers are loose on the Fens.
Nikki is called out to a body recovered at the foot of St Saviour’s Tower. A suicide.
But as she stares at the dead man lying in the reddish-brown river mud, his body impossibly twisted, the words freeze in her throat. Nikki knows this man. She’d seen him just that day. He was coming over for coffee at the weekend. The dead man is her neighbour, Martin Durham.
Witnesses say he seemed scared to death of something.
Did he jump . . . or was he pushed?
Then a second body is found on a patch of wasteland in Greenborough town. Bound at the wrist and ankles, throat sliced from ear to ear.

Captive on the Fens (Book 6)
A young woman’s body is found in a remote barn on the Fens. Before she was killed, one of her fingers was cut off.
The case has disturbing similarities to an unsolved murder in Derbyshire the year before. When another woman is found alive with similar injuries, the investigation grows even more complicated.
